Hey friends!

Welcome back to Blogmas D19! Today I'm doing something really different because for the first time, I've been tagged to do a post! I know this sounds very loser-ish of me - but hey, I don't have a ton of blogger friends but this year has truly been a year where I got to meet so many amazing fellow content creators, so you best bet I'm over the moon for this! With that being said, the biggest shout out to Kat from Femenish for The Ultimate Christmas Tag:

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

I guess one of my favourite things about Christmas is just the festive spirit that surrounds the whole month of Christmas. Everywhere is so beautifully decorated and people are in such high spirits! Homes are being done up and presents are being shopped for, it is just a season filled with so much love and joy which is a really nice feeling to end the year on!

Do you have any Christmas traditions you CANNOT forget about each year?

Growing up in Singapore, my family didn't have much of a Christmas tradition. But as I grew up and found friends for life, we've built our own traditions which is something I am eternally grateful for. One of the things I look forward to every year is the big secret santa I have with my friends, I met them just over six years ago now, and every Christmas we have this day where we exchange gifts and enjoy each other's company. We have a little secret santa system and it is just the most fun spending the last month guessing who our santa is and how best to keep it a secret! Even though I'm so far away from them, I still take part in it through some crazy ways and them - being every so loving, would pitch to send me their gifts even though it is so costly, they still do it!

Is there a song that just gets you into that Christmas spirit?

Mariah Carey is my girl during Christmas, this song ALWAYS gets me in the festive mood! It also helps that it is being played throughout the city in stores regardless of which part of the world I'm in and it always just brings me the warm fuzzy feels.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

I've talked a ton about Christmas films on this space as you've probably saw but if I had to pick one, my fave Christmas Movie on 2018 is definitely Christmas Chronicles. I just love the spin on a modern day Christmas while holding onto family values and the magic of Christmas!

Which food is your must-have at Christmas time?

This is going to be my first year preparing my Christmas dinner at home and I'm not going to lie, I was the most excited for some pigs in blankets! Who doesn't love a delicious bite of sausage and bacon? Although I get that it is not everybody's cup of tea, I do enjoy this little side dish and I'm looking forward to enjoying them this Christmas!

If you had to choose between Michael Buble’s Christmas album and Justin Bieber’s Christmas album, which one would you choose and why?

I've got to say, Michael Buble is basically the king of Christmas songs - I've talked about it before but he has the most soothing voice that not only is so calming but puts you right in the festive mood! I got to say though, I do love me a little JB's Mistletoe when it's shuffled into my christmas playlist!

What is your favourite memory about Christmas?

This is a loooong shot but one of my earliest and favourite Christmas memory is my brother and I posting infront of the Christmas tree, in our Christmas PJ! It was probably more than ten years ago now and everytime I think back to my long hair with bangs and my brother who had the shortest hair, it just brings back so many beautiful memories. It was also before my parents separated so I guess this memory is like a little trip down memory lane where my family had the picture perfect Christmas? Although by some stroke of luck, everything and everyone is in a place where we are all happy, it doesn't hurt to think back to where everything was carefree!

When do you start decorating your place for Christmas?

Jonathan
I am not going to lie, if I could have my tree up the entire year, I would! I remember a couple years ago, I had my tree up in October - yes crazy I know! But this year I decided if I left the decoration slightly later, I could savour it more instead of having the whole overkilling vibe. So I've started decorating my space up in November and I still love it so I think it's a good time! I've seen people only getting their space decorated around this time, it gives me a little anxiety because it's a bit too late because in my brain, Christmas is the entire December!

If you were at Christmas Karaoke, which 5 songs would you choose to play?

Okay so I'm really bad at remembering lyrics because you know, sieve brain and I'm just going to pick the 5 songs that I am most okay with screaming along:

1. Last Christmas

2. Holly Jolly Christmas

3. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

4. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

5. Let It Snow

What does Christmas really mean to you?

Christmas to me, is all about love. When you get gifts, it's all about expressing the love you have for the people around you. When you decorate your space, it's because you're either prepping the area for the people you love to come around or because you're just expressing your love for Christmas through the trinkets! Everything is about love, love and more love! It's just that perfect reason to show love!

How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa?

Growing up Asian - you kind of know that Santa is the man you see in shopping centres or plastered across everything and anything in December. So we kind of knew that he wasn't real? Plus my parents always asked me what I wanted for Christmas or on most times, bring us to shop and wrap it... so Santa wasn't real, from the start?

What do you think makes Christmas so magical?

Stephanie
I guess Christmas is so magical because everything is just different. Like you wouldn't see sparkly lights on buildings or shop floors in June but in december it's just pretty! It is also a time of the year where it gets darker earlier, you just feel extra cosy and all that fun stuff! So that, plus a mix of presents and mulled wine just makes it that much special and magical!
